A Paris Fulbright Fellow recipient, CHRISTINE LEE  pursues a wide range of creative, musical projects; while her passion is in chamber music, she also devotes her time towards teaching and solo engagements. In the ‘23-’24 season, Christine begins her second year as Artist-in-Residence faculty member at the University of Washington School of Music, where she coordinates and coaches both undergraduate and graduate level chamber ensembles. Most recently, she spearheaded a brand-new chamber music series titled “Classical Music Connections” at the National Nordic Museum, curating and performing in three chamber concerts in the Spring ‘23 season. This series looks forward to its second season in Spring ‘24. Christine performed as soloist with the Camellia Symphony and Christian Baldini with the Schumann Concerto in 2021, and as part of her engagement with the symphony, had the great joy of teaching a masterclass for the local cello students in Sacramento. During her most recent studies in the Chamber Music Program at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, she performed alongside artists such as Gil Kalisch, David McCarroll, Tessa Lark, Ian Swenson, Jennifer Culp, and Dimitri Murrath. In addition to a full-time performing schedule, Christine’s interest in utilizing social media in the classical music realm lead her to a year-long role as social media manager of the Seattle-based chamber music series, Emerald City Music, where she was part of the marketing team that helped launch a new streaming platform during the pandemic.

Christine was co-founder and cellist of the L’arc Trio, a piano trio that formed in the Chamber Music Program at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. During the trio’s tenure, they received a grant by IntermusicSF to commission a brand-new work titled “Ominous Machine” by the inspiring, trailblazing composer Vivian Fung. The trio will reunite to give its much anticipated world premiere at the Bowes Center at SFCM on November 7, 2023. L’arc Trio was also first prize winner of the Barbara Fritz Chamber Music Award and participated in Music for Food concerts in San Francisco.

In 2017, Christine was selected as one of two musical studies Fulbright Fellows to go to Paris and studied with renowned cellist Michel Strauss. During her studies in Paris, she made her solo debut at the Reid Hall and had the great privilege of performing for over 600 Fulbright Scholars and Nobel Laureates for the 2018 Fulbright Seminar in Berlin.
